About Annick Goutal Eau du Ciel Eau de Toilette $110 3.4 oz:
Annick Goutal imagines her strolls in the countryside in South of France lined with cut hay, the smell of nature after a summer rain, the butterflies that come to caress the neck of women.
As delicate as the beating of their wings, the skin feels the freshness of the nature, the purity of the water, the heat of the sun that reappears.
A suspended divine and joyful moment that Annick Goutal captured, thanks to the lightness of linden tree, green and tender, the floral delicacy of the rosewood, the carnal wrapping of honey-sweet gold of beeswax, the powdery violet of the iris and the softness of the soothing white musk. Eau du Ciel, the fragrance of recovered serenity.

Why it’s a find:
While I usually prefer warm, woody fragrances, there are occasion when a lighter fragrance, one with layers of sophisticated notes becomes a favorite. That’s the case with Annick Goutal Eau du Ciel Eau de Toilette (or the Water of Heaven). It’s floral, light and powdery with slightly grassy top notes. Eau du Ciel dies down to a soft warm floral. The scent lasts for hours and leaves traces on your clothing which is always lovely. It’s clean and fresh and perfect for the spring season.
I would be remiss to ignore mentioning the signature Annick Goutal bottle which is so beautifully elegant that it deserves a place on my vanity. As opposed to a label on the bottle, a luxe label dangles from a hand-tied ribbon from the neck of the bottle. And then there is the box that houses the bottle that is almost a work of art itself.
